Riverside Nursing & Rehab Center opened its doors in February of 2010. Accepting patients seven days a week, our Admissions Nurse welcomes each new patient and guides them and their family through the admission process. At Riverside Austin, we strive to make our community feel more like home and create an environment where each resident’s individual preferences are honored, whether they’re with us for a short term rehab stay or need more long term care. Among the programs we have developed to ensure resident choices are being honored are: a delicious food pantry stocked with healthy snacks and open around the clock should the need for a late night snack or early morning pick-me-up arise; a Cyber Café where they may use shared computers; the opportunity to watch TV and movies on our large HD flat screen or listen to iPods, or to relax with the latest best seller on a Kindle. With combined experience of more than 40 years in the long-term care industry, Riverside’s Administrator, Wendy Bell, and Director of Nursing, Judy Collins, lead a team dedicated to excellence. We are thrilled to announce that Wendy Bell was just named Administrator of the Year by the Texas Healthcare Association. We take great pride in our strong clinical team, which includes both vocational and registered nurses. We are so proud that our Assistant Director of Nursing, Maria Villarreal, was recently named Nurse of the Year by the Texas Healthcare Association. Riverside Nursing & Rehab Center is Austin’s leader in nursing home dialysis care. Nephrologist, Dr. Jason Fought, monitors the unique care required by our dialysis patients. In addition to an expertise in this field, Riverside assists in coordination of transportation to dialysis appointments. We also offer IV therapy and complex wound care provided by a dedicated wound care specialist.
